AI phone answering for your business
An attorney phone answering service answers your firm's phone when you are with a client, in court, or away from your desk. AllDayDesk answers calls around the clock using your firm's saved information, takes messages, and can book consultations on your dashboard calendar. You keep your existing phone number by forwarding calls to the service, so clients dial the same number they always have. Setup involves entering your firm's details, checking them, hearing a personalized sample call, and then turning on forwarding with your phone provider. When a caller asks something the service does not know — like a fee quote or a case-specific question — it takes a message so you can respond yourself.

How it works
Choose your business or enter its website. Check the services, hours, and details callers need.
Listen to a sample for your business and check its answers. The sample does not create a real booking.
Follow the steps for your phone service. Set up booking availability and any call transfers you want to use.
Review calls, messages, and bookings in your dashboard.
Solo attorneys and small firms often handle calls themselves. When you are in a hearing or meeting with a client, the phone rings unanswered or goes to voicemail, and some callers simply move on to the next firm on their list. An answering service covers those moments by answering in your firm's name, gathering the caller's name, contact information, and reason for calling, and putting all of it in front of you.
AllDayDesk is an automated receptionist, not a staffed call center. It answers using the business information you save, so it can describe your practice areas, your office location, and your hours the way you wrote them. It takes messages for anything it cannot answer, and it can book new consultations on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar once you have set up your services and availability.
AllDayDesk is available to answer around the clock, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. That availability matters for legal callers, who often reach out after business hours because they are working their own job schedule.
Availability is not the same as a guarantee that every single call connects. Phone networks, forwarding, and transfers all depend on your carrier and configuration. Transfers to you require you to set up a destination number and rules for when transfers happen, and neither pickup nor an immediate response is guaranteed. If a caller asks something the service does not know, it takes a message rather than guessing.
New consultations are booked on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar by default. Before that works, you configure the services you offer and the times you are available, so the receptionist only offers slots you actually want filled.
If your firm already runs on Google Calendar, you can optionally connect it in Settings after connecting and authorizing your Google account. AllDayDesk does not connect to other external calendars or industry scheduling software, and nothing is connected automatically — you set it up yourself in Settings.
You do not need a new phone number. Setup starts by choosing your business or entering your firm's website, then checking the details the service pulled together. You hear a personalized sample call so you know exactly how your firm will sound — the sample is a demonstration and creates no real booking. Then you choose phone setup and forward your existing number to AllDayDesk.
Forwarding instructions depend on your phone service. For example, Verizon mobile uses *72 plus the destination number for all-call forwarding and *73 to turn it off, while T-Mobile uses **21*1 followed by the destination and # for unconditional forwarding. Verizon wireless forwarding handles calls only, not texts, and must be set from the phone while in coverage. Other providers differ: Spectrum Business Voice manages forwarding through the SpectrumBusiness.net portal rather than star codes, and Comcast Business features depend on which voice product you subscribe to. Check your provider's own instructions before activating.

An answering service fits when calls interrupt billable work or go unanswered when you are out. It is not a full replacement for office staff: an in-house receptionist also greets visitors, handles mail, and does other office tasks beyond the phone, so compare scope rather than treating a phone service as an employee substitute.
Human-staffed services exist too, and human coverage and fees vary by service and plan — some human receptionist services advertise starting prices well above a basic automated plan, but a fair comparison needs each provider's current quote, included allowance, and overage rates. AllDayDesk's own pricing is displayed separately on this page. Also note that a Google Voice number cannot be forwarded to an automated system like this one, per Google's own documentation, so firms on Google Voice would need a different approach.
