AI phone answering for your business
A property management call answering service takes your tenant and owner calls when you cannot, using the business details you save ahead of time. With AllDayDesk, you keep your public number, forward calls to the service, and the receptionist answers in your business name around the clock. This page explains how it works for property managers, what calls it handles well, and how to set up forwarding.

How it works
Choose your business or enter its website. Check the services, hours, and details callers need.
Listen to a sample for your business and check its answers. The sample does not create a real booking.
Follow the steps for your phone service. Set up booking availability and any call transfers you want to use.
Review calls, messages, and bookings in your dashboard.
AllDayDesk answers business calls around the clock using information you save about your property management company: your name, the properties you manage, your services, and your availability. Callers hear a receptionist that speaks in your business name and answers from those saved details.
You keep your existing public number. You forward calls to AllDayDesk, and the forwarding steps depend on your phone carrier or phone system. Once forwarding is on, calls come to the receptionist instead of ringing through to you or going to voicemail.
The receptionist's activity is visible in your dashboard. You can read call transcripts, see summaries of each conversation, and review any appointments that were booked, so you can follow up from one place.
Property management phones get a mix of routine questions and scheduling requests. A call answering service is a good fit for the routine side: a tenant asking about office hours, an owner asking how to submit a request, or a prospective renter asking what you manage and how to schedule a viewing.
The receptionist can book new appointments, such as showings or office visits, once you have configured your services and availability. By default those bookings go on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar. If you prefer, you can connect Google Calendar in Settings after authorizing your Google account, and the connection is optional.
Some calls should not be fully handled by any answering service. If a caller asks for an exact price, a lease-specific answer, or anything the saved details do not cover, the receptionist takes a message so you can respond yourself. Changes to existing appointments are passed to you as requests, not confirmed changes, so you stay in control of your schedule.
Setup ends with choosing phone setup, and the exact forwarding instructions depend on who provides your phone service. Forwarding can often be turned on yourself using a star code or your carrier's online portal, but the steps differ by carrier and product.
For example, Verizon mobile lines forward all calls by dialing *72 plus the 10-digit destination, and *73 turns forwarding off; unanswered-call forwarding on Verizon mobile uses *71 plus the destination. T-Mobile uses codes like **21*1 followed by the destination and # for unconditional forwarding, with ##21# to disable. On Optimum Business Phone, you dial *72, wait for a dial tone, then dial the destination, and *73 disables it. Spectrum Business Voice manages forwarding through the SpectrumBusiness.net portal under Voice Settings or Forwarding Manager.
One important exception: Google Voice does not support forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated answering system, so a Google Voice line is not a compatible forwarding source. If you are unsure which product you have, check your bill or your provider's support pages, because instructions differ even within the same carrier's product lineup.

When a caller needs to reach you directly, the receptionist can transfer the call to a number you configure. Transfers require you to set up a destination and rules for when transfers happen. A transfer is not guaranteed to be picked up or answered immediately, so treat transfers as one tool among several rather than a promise of live contact.
For everything else, the receptionist takes a message. Messages, like all calls, appear in your dashboard with a transcript and summary, so you can return calls in your own order of priority. If a caller asks something the saved business details cannot answer, taking a message is the default rather than guessing.
AllDayDesk is an AI-based service, and this site compares documented features of options rather than hands-on tests. Human virtual receptionist services exist as an alternative: Ruby advertises live receptionist plans starting at $245 per month as of October 2026, and Smith.ai sells human receptionist service with per-call pricing that depends on the needs you select. Those starting prices are not complete comparisons; included minutes, overage rates, hours and contract terms all vary by quote.
An in-house receptionist is another option, though the role usually includes greeting visitors and office tasks beyond phone answering, so a phone service is not a full replacement for that job. Weigh what each option covers: an AI receptionist answers around the clock from saved details and books on your calendar, while human services offer person-to-person conversation, typically at a higher starting price and often with defined coverage hours. The right choice depends on your call volume, budget and how much of the day you want covered.

No. You keep your public number and forward calls to AllDayDesk. The forwarding method depends on your phone carrier or system, and you can turn it off whenever you want.
New appointments go on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar by default, once you have configured your services and availability. Connecting Google Calendar is optional and is done in Settings after you connect and authorize your Google account.
It takes a message instead of guessing. You see the message, transcript and summary in your dashboard and can follow up yourself.
Yes, if you configure a transfer destination and rules for when transfers happen. Pickup and immediate response are not guaranteed, so messages remain the reliable path for anything you must act on.
AllDayDesk answers calls, takes messages and books appointments from your saved details. It does not provide emergency dispatch. If your business has an emergency procedure, include it in your saved details so callers hear the right instructions.
No. Around-the-clock availability describes when the service can answer, not a guarantee that every call connects. Phone networks and forwarding can fail like any technology.
Enter your business, check the details, and listen to a personalized sample call before you forward anything. The sample creates no real booking, so you can try it with nothing on the line.
