AI phone answering for your business
A towing answering service answers your business phone when you cannot: while you are under a truck, on a hook, driving, or asleep at 3 a.m. AllDayDesk is an AI receptionist that answers calls around the clock using your saved business information. It collects the caller's name, number, vehicle location and the reason for the call, then takes a message whenever a question needs your judgment, such as a price quote or an availability check. You keep your existing phone number by forwarding calls to AllDayDesk, and every call, transcript, summary and booking shows up in your dashboard. Setup takes a few steps: pick your business or enter its website, check the details it pulled, hear a personalized sample, and choose how to forward your phone.

How it works
Choose your business or enter its website. Check the services, hours, and details callers need.
Listen to a sample for your business and check its answers. The sample does not create a real booking.
Follow the steps for your phone service. Set up booking availability and any call transfers you want to use.
Review calls, messages, and bookings in your dashboard.
Towing calls are short and specific. A driver needs a tow, a customer wants to know if their car is ready, or someone asks about vehicle pickup hours. AllDayDesk answers these calls using the business details you save, so callers get a consistent response whether you are mid-recovery or off the clock.
When a caller asks something you have not saved, like an exact price for a long-distance tow or whether you can reach a specific highway mile marker right now, the receptionist takes a message instead of guessing. You see the message in your dashboard and call back with the answer.
New appointment and pickup requests go on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar by default, once you have configured your services and availability. If you prefer, you can connect Google Calendar in Settings after authorizing your account.
Most towing calls fall into a few buckets, and each one needs different handling:
Tow requests: the caller gives a location, vehicle type and situation. The receptionist collects those details and, if you have configured services and availability, can book the pickup on your calendar. Vehicle release and pickup questions are different: owners want to know where their car is, what documents to bring, and when they can get it. If you save your storage lot address, hours and release requirements, the receptionist can share them.
Pricing and coverage questions: rates vary by distance, vehicle and situation. Unless you save exact rates, the receptionist takes a message so you can quote it yourself. A caller who wants to move or cancel an existing pickup creates a request for you to review, not a confirmed change; you approve or adjust it in the dashboard.
Transfers: if you want certain calls to reach you directly, you can configure a transfer destination and rules. A transfer only works if you have set it up, and pickup is not guaranteed, so many owners rely on messages instead.
You keep your public number. Callers dial it like always, and your phone service forwards the call to AllDayDesk. The exact steps depend on your carrier, so check which service you have before entering any codes.
For example, Verizon mobile uses *72 plus the destination number for all-call forwarding and *73 to turn it off, while T-Mobile uses **21*1 plus the destination and # for unconditional forwarding. AT&T Phone for Business, Spectrum Business Voice, Comcast, Vonage, Frontier and Optimum each have their own steps, and some are managed in a web portal instead of with star codes.
One important limit: Google Voice does not support forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system, so a Google Voice line is not a workable path to AllDayDesk. If you use a standard landline, mobile line or business VoIP service, use the guide for that specific carrier.

Setup starts by choosing your business or entering its website. AllDayDesk pulls your public business details, you check and correct them, and then you hear a personalized sample of how the receptionist would sound for your company. The sample does not create a real booking; it just shows you what callers will hear.
Next you choose your phone setup and forward your line using your carrier's instructions. From then on, calls come to the receptionist around the clock, and you review everything in the dashboard. Before bookings work, configure your services and availability so the calendar reflects when you actually run tows.
AllDayDesk is this site's own product, and this comparison covers documented features rather than hands-on testing of any service. Human answering companies such as Ruby, Smith.ai and AnswerConnect staff phones with people, often around the clock. Their pricing varies by plan, allowance and contract, so compare current quotes rather than headline numbers.
An AI receptionist like AllDayDesk answers using your saved business information, produces transcripts and summaries in a dashboard, and books on a calendar you control. A human service may handle unusual or nuanced conversations differently. Weigh what matters for your call volume: consistency and dashboard visibility versus human judgment on every call.
Either way, the core job is the same: capture the caller's location, vehicle and number, and get you the message fast so you can decide whether to roll.

Callers reach a receptionist that answers using your saved business details, so the call sounds like your business. You can hear a personalized sample during setup before any real calls are forwarded.
Only rates you have saved in your business information. For anything unknown, like a long-distance or special-situation tow, the receptionist takes a message so you can quote it yourself.
Changes to existing appointments are requests for you to review, not confirmed changes. You see the request in your dashboard and decide.
AllDayDesk does not connect to dispatch, CRM or industry scheduling software. Bookings go on the built-in dashboard calendar by default, with an optional Google Calendar connection available in Settings after you authorize your account.
You can configure a transfer destination and rules, but pickup is not guaranteed. When a transfer is not configured or a question is unknown, the receptionist takes a message with the caller's details.
