Forward Comcast Business Phone
Forwarding a Comcast Business phone starts with one important step: figuring out which Comcast voice product you actually have, because the steps are not the same for all of them. Comcast offers services like Business Voice, VoiceEdge, Voice Mobility, and Managed Voice, and each one is managed differently. Comcast confirms that My Account and the Comcast Business App are the main places to manage phone features like call forwarding, and that available features depend on which services you subscribe to. For one Comcast product, Managed Voice, the documented phone steps are: lift the handset, dial *72 followed by the 10-digit destination number, and hang up to turn on all-call forwarding; dial *73 to turn it off. That code set applies only to Managed Voice, not to every Comcast Business phone line. If you are not sure which product you have, check your bill or your Comcast Business account portal before entering any codes. Once forwarding is on, test it by calling your business line from another phone and confirming the call reaches the destination. Keep in mind that all-call forwarding sends every incoming call away from your original line, so you will not receive calls there until you turn forwarding off.

Step 1: Identify Which Comcast Voice Product You Have
Comcast Business sells more than one phone service, and the forwarding instructions differ between them. Before you dial anything or change settings, find the exact product name. The easiest places to check are your monthly bill, your Comcast Business online account, or the welcome email you received when service started.
Comcast's own guidance says to identify whether you have Voice Mobility, Business Voice, or VoiceEdge before using a product's instructions, and notes that features depend on your subscribed services. If your paperwork mentions Managed Voice or a specific desk phone model, that points to a different instruction set than a cloud-hosted product.
- Check your bill or account portal for the product name, such as Business Voice, VoiceEdge, Voice Mobility, or Managed Voice.
- Note the model of any desk phone you use; some Comcast guides are written for specific phone systems.
- If you cannot tell which product you have, contact Comcast Business support and ask them to confirm it before you change forwarding settings.

Step 2: Use My Account or the Comcast Business App
For most Comcast Business voice products, the primary way to manage phone features is through My Account on the web or the Comcast Business App. Comcast states that these tools manage phone features, including the call forwarding and remote call forwarding that come with Voice Mobility.
Sign in with your Comcast Business credentials, look for the phone or voice section, and find the call forwarding settings for your number. Because menu layouts can change and features vary by subscription, use the in-product help or Comcast support if you cannot locate the forwarding option.
- Sign in to My Account or the Comcast Business App with an account that has permission to manage phone features.
- Find your phone number's voice settings and look for call forwarding.
- Features you see may depend on which services your business subscribes to.

Step 3: Managed Voice Star Codes
If your business has Comcast Managed Voice with a supported desk phone, Comcast publishes star codes for forwarding directly from the handset. For the Panasonic TPA65 phone covered in Comcast's user guide, the steps are: lift the handset, dial *72 followed by the 10-digit destination number, then replace the handset to enable all-call forwarding. Dial *73 to disable it.
The same guide also documents conditional options: *92 plus the destination sets no-answer forwarding (calls ring your desk first, then forward if nobody picks up), with *93 to disable it. *90 plus the destination sets busy forwarding when call waiting is not enabled, with *91 to disable it.
These codes are specific to Managed Voice. Do not assume they work on a Business Voice, VoiceEdge, or Voice Mobility line. If a code does not produce a confirmation, stop and verify your product instead of trying codes from other carriers.
- All calls: *72 + 10-digit destination to enable; *73 to disable (Managed Voice TPA65 guide).
- No answer: *92 + destination to enable; *93 to disable.
- Busy (when call waiting is off): *90 + destination to enable; *91 to disable.
- After activating, place a test call from another phone to confirm calls reach the destination.

Step 4: Test the Forward and Know What It Changes
Whatever method you use, verify it works before you rely on it. Call your business number from a cell phone or another line and confirm the call arrives at the destination you set. If it rings your original phone instead, the forwarding did not activate, so repeat the steps or check your product in the portal.
Understand what all-call forwarding changes: every incoming call goes to the destination, and your original line will not ring. No-answer forwarding lets your desk ring first, which is useful when you still answer during the day. Also remember to turn forwarding off when you no longer need it, using *73 on Managed Voice or the same portal setting you used to enable it.
- Test from an outside line, not from the forwarded phone itself.
- All-call forwarding overrides ringing at your original line until disabled.
- No-answer forwarding keeps your line ringing first and only forwards missed calls.
- Disable forwarding with *73 (Managed Voice) or in My Account when you want calls back to normal.

Forwarding to an Answering Service
Many owners forward their Comcast Business number to an answering service so calls are handled when they are on a job, with a customer, or simply away from the phone. The forwarding steps above are the same; the destination is just the answering service's number instead of a cell phone.
AllDayDesk, this site's own product, is one option: it answers business calls around the clock using information you save about your business. You keep your existing Comcast number by forwarding calls to it. Setup involves choosing your business or entering its website, checking the details it found, hearing a personalized sample call, and then choosing how to connect your phone. Calls, transcripts, summaries, and any bookings show up in your dashboard, and new appointments go on the built-in AllDayDesk calendar by default once you have set your services and availability. An optional Google Calendar connection is available in Settings after you connect and authorize your Google account.
If you compare options, note that human answering services exist too, and pricing and coverage vary by provider and plan. AllDayDesk publishes its plans and pricing separately on this site.
- Forwarding to an answering service uses the same Comcast steps; only the destination number changes.
- AllDayDesk answers around the clock using your saved business information and lets you keep your public number.
- Existing appointment changes come through as requests for you, not confirmed changes.
- When the service does not know an answer, price, or opening, it takes a message for you.

More questions, answered
Do the *72 and *73 codes work on every Comcast Business phone line?
No. Comcast documents those codes for its Managed Voice service with supported desk phones. Other Comcast products, such as Business Voice, VoiceEdge, or Voice Mobility, are managed through My Account or the Comcast Business App, and features depend on your subscription. Confirm your product before using any code.
Can I forward only missed calls instead of all calls?
On Comcast Managed Voice, the published guide includes a no-answer option: dial *92 plus the destination so your desk rings first and only unanswered calls forward, and *93 to turn it off. Whether a similar option exists on your specific product depends on your subscription, so check My Account or ask Comcast support.
Will callers still reach my voicemail when forwarding is on?
With all-call forwarding active, calls go to the destination number instead of ringing your Comcast line, so your Comcast voicemail will not pick them up. The destination's voicemail or answering service handles the call instead.
How do I turn forwarding off?
On Managed Voice, dial *73 from the same line to disable all-call forwarding (*93 for no-answer and *91 for busy). If you enabled forwarding in My Account or the Comcast Business App, turn it off in the same place. Test with an outside call to confirm your original line rings again.
Can I forward a Google Voice number to my Comcast line or to AllDayDesk?
Google states that forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system is unsupported, so Google Voice is not a supported forwarding source for AllDayDesk. Forward your Comcast Business number directly instead.
