AI phone answering for your business
An answering service for plumbing companies takes calls your shop cannot pick up, including evenings, weekends, and busy job-site hours. With AllDayDesk, you keep your existing plumbing business phone number and forward calls to the service. The receptionist answers around the clock using the business information you save, greets callers, answers questions it can, takes messages, and collects appointment requests. You can listen to a personalized sample call during setup before anything goes live. Setup starts by choosing your plumbing business or entering its website, checking the details it found, hearing the sample, and then choosing how to forward your phone. Messages, call transcripts, summaries, and booking requests all show up in your dashboard, so you can review and return calls on your own schedule. Appointments are placed on the built-in AllDayDesk calendar by default once you have set up your services and availability, and an optional Google Calendar connection is available in Settings after you connect and authorize your account.

How it works
Choose your business or enter its website. Check the services, hours, and details callers need.
Listen to a sample for your business and check its answers. The sample does not create a real booking.
Follow the steps for your phone service. Set up booking availability and any call transfers you want to use.
Review calls, messages, and bookings in your dashboard.
Plumbing calls tend to come in while you are under a sink, on a ladder, or driving between jobs. An answering service covers those moments. AllDayDesk answers using your saved business details, so callers hear your company name, your service area, and the services you offer.
When a caller asks something the service does not know, like a price for an unusual repair or a question about an existing appointment, it takes a message instead of guessing. That message, along with a transcript and a summary of the call, appears in your dashboard.
Most owners answer their own phone, so coverage matters most during the hours you are physically unable to pick up. The service is available around the clock, which means callers reach a consistent greeting whether they call at noon or at night. Note that around-the-clock availability does not guarantee every single call connects, so reviewing your dashboard regularly is still a good habit.
New appointment requests are placed on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar by default, once you have configured your services and availability. If you prefer, you can connect Google Calendar in Settings after connecting and authorizing your Google account.
Changes to existing appointments work differently. A caller asking to move or cancel a job creates a request for you to review, not a confirmed change. You stay in control of your schedule and can confirm or adjust it from the dashboard.
You keep your public phone number. Forwarding instructions depend on your phone carrier or service, so check which product you actually have before entering codes. Common patterns include dialing a star code from the line itself, or turning forwarding on in a web portal or app.
Examples from published carrier guides: Verizon mobile uses *72 plus the destination for all calls and *73 to turn it off, while T-Mobile uses **21*1 followed by the number and # for unconditional forwarding. Comcast Business manages forwarding through My Account or the Comcast Business app, and features depend on the services you subscribe to. Spectrum Business Voice uses forwarding controls in the SpectrumBusiness.net portal. If your line runs through Google Voice, note that Google explicitly does not support forwarding from a Google Voice number to an automated system.
You can choose whether to forward all calls or only the ones you miss, depending on what your carrier supports. If a conditional option like no-answer forwarding is not verified for your carrier, contact them to confirm what your specific line supports rather than borrowing codes from another provider.

Some callers need to reach you directly. AllDayDesk can transfer calls to you, but you must first configure a transfer destination and the rules for when transfers happen. A transfer is an attempt to reach you, not a guaranteed connection, so you should not rely on it as your only path for emergencies.
When a transfer is not appropriate or a question needs your judgment, the service takes a message with the caller's details so you can respond when you are free.
AllDayDesk is an automated receptionist that answers using your saved business information. Human answering services exist too, and some advertise 24/7 people answering; their pricing and hours vary by provider and plan, so compare current quotes rather than assuming one model always costs more or covers more hours. An in-house receptionist, by contrast, handles office tasks beyond the phone, so a phone service is not a full employee replacement.
When comparing options for your plumbing company, look at what happens to messages, how appointments are handled, whether you keep your number, and how much of the setup you can do yourself. This site compares documented features, not hands-on tests of every provider.

No. You keep your public number and forward calls to AllDayDesk. The forwarding steps depend on your phone carrier or service.
The service collects appointment requests and places new ones on the built-in AllDayDesk calendar by default once you have set up services and availability, or on Google Calendar if you connect it in Settings. Changes to existing appointments are requests for you to confirm, not automatic changes.
It takes a message with the caller's details instead of guessing, and the message appears in your dashboard with the call transcript and summary.
Transfers are possible after you configure a destination and rules for when they happen. Neither pickup nor an immediate response is guaranteed, so messages remain important.
Google states that forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system is unsupported, so a Google Voice line is not a compatible forwarding source. A separate Google Calendar connection is supported in Settings.
During setup, after you choose your business or enter its website and check the details, you can listen to a personalized sample call. The sample does not create a real booking.
Enter your plumbing business, check the details it found, and listen to a personalized sample call before you forward a single ring. Setup starts with that preview, and your dashboard shows every call, message, and booking request once you go live.
