AI phone answering for your business
An electrician call answering service answers your business phone when you are on a ladder, inside a panel, or done for the day. AllDayDesk is an AI receptionist built for trades like electrical contracting. It answers calls around the clock using the business details you save, takes messages, shares your service information, and books new appointments into a calendar you control. You keep your current phone number by forwarding calls to AllDayDesk, so callers dial the same number they always have. Setup starts by entering your business name or website, checking the details it pulls in, hearing a personalized sample call, and then choosing how to forward your phone. Everything the receptionist handles, including transcripts, summaries and bookings, shows up in your dashboard.

How it works
Choose your business or enter its website. Check the services, hours, and details callers need.
Listen to a sample for your business and check its answers. The sample does not create a real booking.
Follow the steps for your phone service. Set up booking availability and any call transfers you want to use.
Review calls, messages, and bookings in your dashboard.
Electrical work keeps hands busy, and the phone tends to ring while you are on a ladder or inside a panel. A call answering service picks up those calls so a customer with a dead outlet or a panel upgrade question talks to someone instead of voicemail. AllDayDesk answers using your saved business information, so it can describe your services and your service area in your own words.
When a caller wants to schedule work, the receptionist can book a new appointment. New bookings go to the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar by default, once you have set up your services and availability. If you prefer Google Calendar, you can connect and authorize your Google account in Settings as an optional step.
When a caller asks something you have not saved, like a price for an unusual job, the receptionist takes a message instead of guessing. Calls, transcripts, summaries and bookings show up in your dashboard, so nothing depends on a note scrawled on a receipt.
Electrical calls tend to come in at awkward moments. A homeowner calls at 8 p.m. about a breaker that keeps tripping, and the receptionist answers with your business greeting, explains the services you have saved, and books an appointment into an open slot on your calendar. You review the summary in the morning and confirm before heading out. A general contractor calls during the day while you are pulling wire, and the receptionist answers, shares your service information, and takes a message with the caller's name, number and request so you can call back between jobs.
A caller asks for a firm price on a rewiring job over the phone. Because you have not saved a price for that work, the receptionist takes a message so you can quote it yourself. It does not invent answers.
If a caller wants to change an existing appointment, the receptionist records that as a request for you. Changes to existing bookings are not confirmed automatically; you approve them.
You do not need a new phone number. You forward your existing business line to AllDayDesk, and the steps depend on your phone carrier or service. For example, on Verizon mobile you activate all-call forwarding by dialing *72 plus the 10-digit destination from the phone itself, and *73 turns it off. On T-Mobile, **21*1 followed by the destination and # enables unconditional forwarding, and ##21# disables it. Comcast Business, Spectrum Business Voice, AT&T Phone for Business, Frontier and Optimum each have their own codes or portal steps, so identify your exact service before following any instructions.
One important exception: Google Voice does not support forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system, so AllDayDesk is not compatible with that setup. If you use a Google Voice number, you would need a different phone line to forward from.
Setup with AllDayDesk follows the same path for everyone: choose your business or enter its website, check the details it found, listen to a personalized sample call, and then pick your phone setup option. The sample is a demonstration only and creates no real booking.

Sometimes a caller needs to reach you directly. AllDayDesk can transfer calls, but you must first configure a transfer destination and the rules for when transfers happen. A transfer is not guaranteed to connect: if you are unreachable, there is no promised pickup or instant response, so treat transfers as one tool among several.
For everything else, message taking is the dependable path. When the receptionist does not know an answer, a price, or an available time, it takes a message with the caller's details and request. Messages, along with full transcripts and summaries, appear in your dashboard so you can return calls in your own order of priority.
Electricians comparing options generally weigh three things: who answers, when they answer, and what it costs. Human answering services, such as Ruby, AnswerConnect and Smith.ai's live receptionist plans, staff calls with people. Pricing and hours vary by provider and plan, so compare current quotes, included minutes or calls, and overage rates rather than headline numbers. An in-house receptionist, per Bureau of Labor Statistics role data, covers greeting visitors and office tasks beyond the phone, which is more scope than a phone service replaces.
AllDayDesk is this site's own product, an AI receptionist rather than a human staffed service. It answers around the clock using your saved business information, books new appointments, and shows calls, transcripts and summaries in a dashboard. This comparison covers documented features, not hands-on testing of any provider. The right choice depends on whether you want human judgment on every call or automated coverage with lower cost and no schedule to manage.
Pricing for AllDayDesk plans is displayed separately on this page, so you can compare included minutes and rates directly.
