AT&T Business Forward Calls: Codes and Steps for Every AT&T Business Product
How you forward calls on AT&T depends on which AT&T product your business line uses. For AT&T Phone for Business, dial *72, the 10-digit destination number, then # to forward all calls, and *73# to turn it off. For no-answer forwarding use *92 plus the destination, and for busy forwarding use *90 plus the destination. AT&T Collaborate uses different codes: *72 for always forward, *62 for busy, and *92 for no-answer, each with its own off code. AT&T wireless lines use *61, *62, and *67 for conditional forwarding such as no-answer and busy. Always confirm your exact product name on your bill first, because the codes are not interchangeable between AT&T products.

Step 1: Identify Which AT&T Business Product You Have
AT&T sells several business phone products, and each one uses different forwarding instructions. Using the wrong set of codes simply will not work, so this check comes first.
Look at your bill or your AT&T account page and find the exact service name. The three most common business products are AT&T Phone for Business (a traditional business landline service), AT&T Collaborate (a hosted phone system with administrator-managed features), and AT&T wireless service on a business mobile plan. If your line is a cell phone in your pocket, it is wireless. If it is a desk phone or a landline number, it is one of the other two.
On AT&T Collaborate, an administrator controls which features are available, so if forwarding codes do not respond, check with whoever manages the account before assuming the line is broken.
- AT&T Phone for Business: landline codes like *72 and *73
- AT&T Collaborate: hosted system, codes set by an administrator
- AT&T wireless: mobile conditional codes *61, *62, and *67
- Confirm the product name on your bill before dialing anything

AT&T Phone for Business Forwarding Codes
For AT&T Phone for Business, lift the handset and dial the code, the 10-digit destination number, then #. Wait for the confirmation tone or message before hanging up. To turn a forwarding setting off, dial the matching off code followed by #.
If you have saved forwarding numbers in your online account, you may not need to reenter them when you activate.
- Forward all calls: *72, destination number, # — off: *73#
- Forward when there is no answer: *92, destination number, # — off: *93#
- Forward when the line is busy: *90, destination number, # — off: *91#
- Turn forwarding off from the same line you used to turn it on
AT&T Collaborate Forwarding Codes
AT&T Collaborate is a hosted business phone system, and its feature access codes differ from AT&T Phone for Business. In the official Collaborate feature access code guide, always-forward uses *72 plus the destination and *73 to disable. Busy-call forwarding uses *62 plus the destination and *63 to disable. No-answer forwarding uses *92 plus the destination and *93 to disable.
Notice that busy forwarding is *62 here but *90 on AT&T Phone for Business. That is why identifying your product first matters. On Collaborate, an administrator controls feature access, so some users may not be able to change forwarding themselves.
- Always forward: *72 + destination — off: *73
- Busy forwarding: *62 + destination — off: *63
- No-answer forwarding: *92 + destination — off: *93
- Administrator settings may limit who can change forwarding
AT&T Wireless Business Lines
If your business line is an AT&T mobile phone, forwarding is set from the phone itself. Google's documentation for routing cell calls to Google Voice voicemail lists AT&T Wireless conditional forwarding codes: *61 followed by the destination and # for no-answer calls, *62 followed by the destination and # for unreachable calls, and *67 followed by the destination and # for busy calls. Each code is sent separately, and you wait for confirmation. The matching ##61#, ##62#, and ##67# codes turn each one off.
The AT&T documentation supplied for this guide covers conditional forwarding on wireless, not forward-all on a wireless line. If you want every call forwarded from an AT&T mobile number, check your AT&T wireless plan details or the phone's built-in call forwarding settings, or ask AT&T support for the current all-call code for your plan. Charges depend on your plan, so check your bill for any forwarding fees before you rely on it.
One important limit: Google states that forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system is unsupported. If your business runs on Google Voice, forwarding that number to an answering service is not a supported path.
- No answer: *61*destination# — off: ##61#
- Unreachable: *62*destination# — off: ##62#
- Busy: *67*destination# — off: ##67#

Conditional Forwarding and Forwarding When You Are Away
Unconditional forwarding sends every call somewhere else, and your desk phone stops ringing entirely. Conditional forwarding only steps in when the line is busy or nobody answers, which is what most owners want when they answer their own phone during the day but want backup after hours.
Remote forwarding — turning forwarding on from a phone other than your business line — is not covered by the published AT&T codes above, which are dialed from the business line itself. If you need to change forwarding while away from the office, check whether your AT&T product offers account-based feature management, or ask AT&T support what your specific service supports. Do not assume another carrier's remote-activation steps will work on an AT&T line.
A practical pattern: forward only on no-answer and busy during business hours so you still get first chance at every call, then switch to forward-all at the end of the day.
- Conditional forwarding keeps your line first; backup only answers when you cannot
- Forward-all sends every call away and silences your original line
- Published AT&T codes are dialed from the business line, not remotely
- Ask AT&T support about remote or account-based forwarding for your product

Test the Forward, Then Know How to Undo It
After activating forwarding, place a test call from a different phone, such as your personal cell. If you forwarded all calls, the business line should not ring and the destination should receive the call. If you set conditional forwarding, let the business line ring until it would normally go unanswered and confirm the call arrives at the destination instead.
To undo forwarding, dial the off code for your product from the same line: *73# on AT&T Phone for Business, or *73 on Collaborate (and *63 for busy, *93 for no-answer). On a wireless line, use the matching ## codes for the conditional setting you enabled. Make the same test call afterward to confirm calls ring your business line again.
If codes do nothing, double-check the product name on your bill, confirm with your account administrator on Collaborate, and contact AT&T business support. Some features depend on the plan you subscribe to.
- Test from a different phone, not the forwarded line itself
- Use the off code from the same line you activated on
- No response to codes usually means the wrong product instructions or a feature not on your plan

Forwarding Your AT&T Line to an AI Receptionist
Forwarding is only half of the setup — the other half is choosing where the calls go. Many owners forward their AT&T business line to AllDayDesk, an AI receptionist that answers calls around the clock using the business details the owner saves. It can answer common questions, take messages, and book appointments once services and availability are configured.
Setup works like this: you choose your business or enter its website, AllDayDesk checks the details, you hear a personalized sample of how your calls would be answered (the sample creates no real booking), and then you choose your phone setup and forward your AT&T line using the codes above. Calls, transcripts, summaries, and bookings show up in your dashboard. New appointments go on the built-in AllDayDesk calendar by default, and an optional Google Calendar connection is available in Settings after you connect and authorize your account. Changes to existing appointments are requests for you to review, not confirmed changes.
When the receptionist does not know an answer, a price, or an appointment time, it takes a message instead of guessing. Transfers to you are possible once you configure a destination and rules, though pickup is not guaranteed.
- Forward your AT&T line using the code set for your exact product
- The AI answers from your saved business details and takes messages when unsure
- Bookings land in the built-in calendar, with optional Google Calendar in Settings
- Review every call, transcript, and summary in the dashboard

More questions, answered
Do AT&T business lines charge extra for call forwarding?
Charges depend on your plan and the type of forwarding you use. The published AT&T guides do not list a universal fee, so check your plan details or your bill, or ask AT&T business support whether forwarding on your specific product costs extra.
Why did *90 not work on my AT&T line?
Busy forwarding is *90 on AT&T Phone for Business but *62 on AT&T Collaborate. If a code does nothing, you are probably using instructions for a different AT&T product. Confirm the exact service name on your bill, and on Collaborate check with your administrator, who controls feature access.
Can I forward my AT&T business line to my cell phone?
Yes. Use the forwarding code for your product with your cell number as the destination. Keep in mind that forward-all sends every call to the cell and your business line will not ring; conditional forwarding (no-answer or busy) lets your business line ring first.
Can I turn forwarding on remotely when I am not at the office?
The published AT&T codes are dialed from the business line itself. Remote activation is not covered by those guides, so check whether your product offers account-based feature management or ask AT&T support what your service supports before counting on it.
Does forwarding work with Google Voice?
Google states that forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system is unsupported. If your business number is a Google Voice number, forwarding it to an answering service is not a supported path. A regular AT&T business line that you forward with the codes in this guide is the straightforward route.
What happens to my voicemail when forwarding is on?
Forwarding sends calls to the destination instead of your normal voicemail, so the destination's own greeting and message handling take over. Turn forwarding off with the off code to return calls to your original line and voicemail.
