ATT Business Call Forwarding: Codes and Setup

AT&T business call forwarding codes depend on which AT&T product you have, so check the exact service name on your bill first. AT&T Phone for Business and AT&T Collaborate use different code sets, and neither applies to AT&T wireless lines. The full code lists for both products are below.

First, identify your exact AT&T service

AT&T sells several business phone products, and the forwarding codes are not the same across them. The instructions below cover AT&T Phone for Business and AT&T Collaborate. They do not apply to AT&T wireless lines. Check your bill or your AT&T account portal for the exact product name before you dial anything.

If you use a different AT&T product than the two covered here, contact AT&T business support for that product's own forwarding steps rather than guessing with a code from this page.

  • AT&T Phone for Business: uses *72, *92 and *90 codes
  • AT&T Collaborate: uses *72, *62 and *92 codes, which are different
  • AT&T wireless: uses its own separate codes not covered here
  • Administrator controls may restrict feature access on Collaborate

AT&T Phone for Business forwarding codes

On AT&T Phone for Business, you dial the code, the 10-digit destination number, then #. Wait for the confirmation tone or message before hanging up.

If you have already stored forwarding numbers in your online account, you may not need to reenter the destination when you activate.

  • Forward all calls: dial *72, destination number, then #
  • Turn off all-call forwarding: dial *73#
  • Forward when calls go unanswered: dial *92, destination number, then #
  • Turn off no-answer forwarding: dial *93#
  • Forward when the line is busy: dial *90, destination number, then #
  • Turn off busy forwarding: dial *91#

AT&T Collaborate forwarding codes

AT&T Collaborate uses a different set of codes, so do not mix the two lists. On Collaborate, an administrator controls which features each user can access, so you may need to check with whoever manages your account first.

Collaborate has no separate busy code matching Phone for Business's *90; instead it uses *62 for busy forwarding and *92 for no-answer forwarding.

  • Forward all calls: dial *72 followed by the destination
  • Turn off all-call forwarding: dial *73
  • Forward when busy: dial *62 followed by the destination
  • Turn off busy forwarding: dial *63
  • Forward when there is no answer: dial *92 followed by the destination
  • Turn off no-answer forwarding: dial *93

All-call vs. conditional forwarding: which do you need?

All-call forwarding (unconditional) sends every incoming call straight to the destination. Your phone never rings. This is the right choice when you want an answering service to handle everything.

Conditional forwarding only redirects in specific situations: when you do not answer after a set number of rings, or when the line is busy. This is the right choice when you answer your own phone during business hours and only want backup coverage. One option is to run conditional forwarding during the day and switch to all-call forwarding after hours, so daytime calls still reach you first.

One thing to know: on many systems, all-call forwarding overrides your voicemail, so calls will not reach your old voicemail box while it is active.

  • All-call (*72): every call forwards immediately; your line does not ring
  • No-answer (*92): calls forward only after rings go unanswered
  • Busy (*90 or *62): calls forward only while you are on another call
  • You can run conditional forwarding during the day and all-call at night

Forwarding your AT&T line to an answering service

Forwarding is what lets you keep your advertised AT&T business number while calls are answered elsewhere. With AllDayDesk, you forward your line to the number we give you, and the AllDayDesk assistant answers using your saved business information around the clock.

Setup is simple: you choose your business or enter its website, we check the details, you hear a personalized sample of how your calls would be answered, and then you pick your phone setup option. The sample is a demonstration only and does not create a real booking. After that, calls, transcripts, summaries and bookings all show up in your dashboard.

When callers ask something the assistant does not know, such as a price not on file or an appointment question it cannot resolve, it takes a message instead of guessing. New appointments go on the built-in AllDayDesk calendar once you have set up your services and availability, and an optional Google Calendar connection is available in Settings after you connect and authorize your account. Changes to existing appointments come to you as requests, not confirmed edits.

You can also configure call transfers with a destination number and rules for when they apply. A transfer depends on that configuration, and neither pickup nor an immediate response is guaranteed, so message taking remains part of how coverage works.

  • Keep your public AT&T number; forward it to your AllDayDesk line
  • Hear a personalized sample before you commit
  • See calls, transcripts, summaries and bookings in the dashboard
  • Built-in calendar by default; optional Google Calendar in Settings
  • Unknown answers become messages for you, not guesses

If forwarding does not work

The most common cause of failed forwarding is using the wrong code set for your product. Double-check whether you have Phone for Business or Collaborate, and make sure you are dialing from the business line itself.

Also confirm the destination number includes the area code, and listen for the confirmation tone before hanging up. If a conditional code is rejected, your plan may not include that feature; contact AT&T to confirm what your specific service supports rather than trying codes from other carriers.

  • Verify your exact product name on your bill
  • Dial from the business line, not another phone
  • Include the full 10-digit destination with area code
  • Wait for the confirmation tone or message
  • Contact AT&T if a code is rejected; features vary by plan

More questions, answered

Do these AT&T codes work on my AT&T cell phone?

No. The codes on this page apply to AT&T Phone for Business and AT&T Collaborate landline products. AT&T wireless lines use their own forwarding codes, so check AT&T's wireless support for those.

Will callers still hear my business name when calls are forwarded?

Forwarding is invisible to callers. They dial your regular AT&T business number, and the call rings at the destination you chose. With AllDayDesk, the assistant answers in your business name using the information you saved.

Can I forward only after-hours calls?

Forwarding itself is either always on or triggered by busy or no-answer conditions; it does not follow a clock. One option is to turn all-call forwarding on when you close and dial *73# (Phone for Business) to turn it off when you reopen. AllDayDesk answers around the clock either way, so you can also leave forwarding on full time.

Does forwarding cancel my AT&T service?

No. Forwarding simply redirects incoming calls. Your AT&T line, number and billing stay in place, and you can turn forwarding off at any time with the disable codes.

What happens if a transferred call is not picked up?

AllDayDesk transfers require you to configure a destination and rules, and neither pickup nor an immediate response is guaranteed. When the assistant cannot answer a question or complete a booking, it takes a message so you have the details in your dashboard.

Hear how your AT&T business line could sound

Enter your business name or website, and AllDayDesk will build a personalized sample of how your forwarded calls would be answered around the clock. No real bookings are made during the sample — it is just a preview before you choose your phone setup.
