AI phone answering for your business
A roofing answering service answers your business phone when you are on a roof, on a ladder, or off the clock. AllDayDesk is an around-the-clock answering service built from your saved business information. It answers questions, takes messages, and books new appointments into your calendar. You keep your existing phone number by forwarding calls, and calls, transcripts, summaries, and bookings show up in your dashboard.

How it works
Choose your business or enter its website. Check the services, hours, and details callers need.
Listen to a sample for your business and check its answers. The sample does not create a real booking.
Follow the steps for your phone service. Set up booking availability and any call transfers you want to use.
Review calls, messages, and bookings in your dashboard.
Roofing work keeps your hands busy. When you are mid-job on a roof or a ladder, you may not be able to pick up, and an unanswered call goes to voicemail. An answering service covers that gap. AllDayDesk answers using your business details, so callers get real answers about what you offer instead of a generic voicemail box.
The service handles the routine parts of a roofing call: describing your services, answering common questions, taking a message when it does not know an answer or a price, and booking new appointments. When a caller asks something you have not saved, like an exact repair price for an unusual roof, the service takes a message so you can call back with the right answer. Changes to existing appointments are passed to you as requests, not confirmed changes, so you stay in control of your schedule.
Everything is visible in your dashboard: each call, its transcript, a summary, and any appointment booked. That record helps you return calls in priority order after a long day on the job site.
After a hailstorm or heavy wind event, roofing phones light up. Calls arrive in bursts, often in the evening when homeowners are finally home to make them. If you are the only one answering, you can only take one call at a time, and the rest go to voicemail.
AllDayDesk is available around the clock, so evening and weekend inquiries reach a receptionist that knows your business instead of a full voicemail box. It collects the caller's name, address, and what they need, and books inspection appointments if you have set up your services and availability. That said, around-the-clock availability is not a guarantee that every call connects, and if you configure call transfers for urgent situations, a transfer depends on the destination and rules you set up, with no guaranteed pickup or immediate response.
Most roofing owners answer their own phones rather than employing office staff, so the service works as coverage for the hours you physically cannot pick up, not as a replacement for a person you would have to hire.
Setup starts with your business, not your phone. Enter your roofing company's name or website, and AllDayDesk checks the details it finds, such as your services and service area. You review those details, then hear a personalized sample of how the receptionist would sound answering for your company. The sample is a demonstration only and creates no real booking.
Next you choose your phone setup. You keep your public number; you simply forward calls to AllDayDesk. The exact forwarding steps depend on your phone service, so follow the instructions for your carrier. For example, Verizon mobile uses *72 plus the destination for all-call forwarding and *73 to turn it off, while T-Mobile uses **21*1 plus the destination and # for unconditional forwarding. If you use Google Voice, note that Google explicitly does not support forwarding calls from a Google Voice number to an automated system, so a direct carrier line is the path to use.
Once calls are flowing, configure your services and availability so new appointments can be booked into the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar. If you prefer Google Calendar, you can optionally connect and authorize your Google account in Settings.

Forwarding instructions differ by carrier and even by product within one carrier, so identify the exact service on your bill first. Comcast Business Voice Mobility manages forwarding through My Account and the Comcast Business App. Optimum Business Phone uses *72 then the destination, with *73 to disable. Verizon business landline also uses *72 and *73 from the same line.
For AT&T, the codes depend on the product: AT&T Phone for Business uses *72, destination, # for all calls and *92 for no-answer forwarding, while AT&T Collaborate uses *72 for always-forward and *92 plus destination for no-answer. Vonage Business Communications enables forwarding to a phone number through its Call Forwarding setting. Frontier Digital Voice uses *72 with a second dial tone, and its portal path is Settings, Call Settings, Call Forwarding.
If your carrier does not support conditional forwarding (forwarding only when busy or unanswered), your alternative is all-call forwarding to AllDayDesk, or forwarding only during hours you choose through your carrier's own scheduling features if it offers them. Check with your provider before assuming a code works on your line.

Roofing companies generally compare three routes: doing it yourself with voicemail, hiring in-house help, or using an answering service. Voicemail costs nothing extra but gives callers no answers and no booking. An in-house receptionist can handle phones plus other office work, but the Bureau of Labor Statistics describes receptionist duties as including greeting visitors and office tasks beyond phone answering, so compare scope, not just cost. Human answering services exist too; for example, Ruby advertises live virtual receptionist plans starting at $245 per month as of October 2026, and Smith.ai uses per-call pricing for its human receptionists. Verify current quotes, included allowances, and contract terms before comparing.
AllDayDesk is an AI receptionist, which is this site's own product. It differs from a human service in that it answers around the clock from your saved business information, shows transcripts and summaries in a dashboard, and books into your calendar. When comparing any option, ask the same questions: what happens when the caller asks something the service cannot answer, how are messages delivered, how are appointments handled, and what does the plan cost including overages.
Pricing for AllDayDesk plans is displayed separately from this page, so check the pricing section for current numbers rather than relying on any figure quoted here.
