Comcast Business Phone Call Forwarding
Comcast Business phone call forwarding sends calls that ring your Comcast Business line to another number, such as a cell phone or an answering service. How you turn it on depends on which Comcast voice product you have. Comcast offers more than one phone service, including Business Voice, Voice Mobility, VoiceEdge, and Managed Voice, and each one manages forwarding differently. Comcast says to identify your exact product before using a product's instructions, and features depend on the services you subscribe to. Some Comcast products let you manage forwarding in My Account or the Comcast Business App, while Managed Voice desk phones use star codes like *72 to forward all calls and *73 to turn forwarding off. Once forwarding is active, callers dial your usual Comcast Business number and the call rings at the destination you chose, so you can keep your public number while an AllDayDesk receptionist answers for you around the clock.

Step 1: Identify which Comcast voice product you have
This is the step most owners skip, and it is where forwarding instructions go wrong. Comcast Business sells several phone products, and the activation method is not the same across them. A code or portal path that works on one product may do nothing on another.
Check your Comcast Business bill, your order paperwork, or the My Account portal to see which service name appears. Comcast identifies Voice Mobility, Business Voice, and VoiceEdge as distinct products, and features depend on what you subscribe to. If you are unsure, contact Comcast Business support and ask which product your line is on before changing any forwarding settings.
- Voice Mobility: includes call forwarding and remote call forwarding, managed through My Account or the Comcast Business App
- Managed Voice: desk-phone star codes such as *72 and *73 are documented for this product
- VoiceEdge and other hosted products: use the portal or admin controls for that product
- When in doubt, confirm the product name with Comcast Business support first

Step 2: Manage forwarding through My Account or the Comcast Business App
For products that support it, Comcast says My Account and the Comcast Business App are where you manage phone features, including forwarding. This is usually the easiest route because you can turn forwarding on and off from anywhere without touching the desk phone.
Sign in to My Account or open the Comcast Business App, find the phone or calling features area, and look for call forwarding settings. The exact menu names and click paths can vary by product and account role, so if you do not see forwarding options, your product or your user permissions may not include them. An account administrator can confirm what your login is allowed to change.
- Sign in to My Account or the Comcast Business App
- Open the phone or calling features section for your line
- Look for call forwarding and enter the destination number
- If forwarding is not listed, confirm your product and your account permissions

Step 3: Star codes on Comcast Managed Voice desk phones
If your business uses Comcast Managed Voice with a supported desk phone, Comcast documents star-code forwarding for that system. On a Panasonic TPA65 phone under Managed Voice, you lift the handset, dial *72 followed by the destination number, and hang up to forward all calls. Dialing *73 the same way turns forwarding off.
The same Managed Voice guide also covers conditional forwarding: *92 plus a destination forwards calls that go unanswered, with *93 to disable it, and *90 plus a destination forwards calls when the line is busy while call waiting is off, with *91 to disable it. These codes are specific to Managed Voice. Do not assume they work on Business Voice, Voice Mobility, or VoiceEdge lines, and do not borrow codes from other carriers, because each provider's codes apply only to its own products.
After you activate forwarding, watch for the confirmation signals your product's own guide describes, such as a confirmation tone or dial tone pattern. If you get no confirmation, or calls do not behave the way you expect, contact Comcast Business support rather than retrying codes blindly.
- *72 plus destination: forward all calls (Managed Voice TPA65)
- *73: turn all-call forwarding off
- *92 plus destination: forward calls that are not answered; *93 disables
- *90 plus destination: forward calls when busy (call waiting off); *91 disables
- Rely on the confirmation signals in Comcast's own guide, and call Comcast Business support if activation does not confirm

Forwarding your Comcast number to AllDayDesk
Forwarding is how you keep your existing Comcast Business number while an answering service handles calls. You set the destination to the AllDayDesk number you are given during setup, and callers who dial your public number reach the receptionist instead of ringing your office. Nothing changes about the number customers already know.
Setup with AllDayDesk starts by choosing your business or entering its website, checking the business details it pulls in, and hearing a personalized sample of how your calls would be answered. The sample does not create a real booking. Then you choose your phone setup option, and the instructions depend on your phone service, which for you means your Comcast product. Once your services and availability are configured, new appointments go on the built-in AllDayDesk dashboard calendar by default, and an optional Google Calendar connection is available in Settings after you connect and authorize your Google account. Calls, transcripts, summaries, and bookings all show up in your dashboard.
A few things to know about how the service behaves. When a caller asks something the receptionist does not know, such as a price or an open appointment slot, it takes a message instead of guessing. Changes to existing appointments are passed to you as requests rather than confirmed changes. Call transfers are possible once you configure a destination and rules for them, and neither pickup nor an immediate response is guaranteed on a transfer.

Decisions to make before you turn forwarding on
Forwarding is all-or-nothing on a given line unless your product offers conditional options, so decide what you want forwarded. Forwarding all calls means your office phone stops ringing entirely and every call goes to the destination. If your Comcast product supports no-answer or busy forwarding, you can instead answer your own phone during work hours and only send calls that you miss or that arrive while you are on another line.
Also decide who answers when. Forwarding to an answering service means calls get handled while you are on a job, with a customer, or asleep, while forwarding to a second cell phone still depends on you being able to pick up. If you only want coverage outside business hours, remember that all-call forwarding does not follow a schedule on its own; you would turn it on and off manually unless your product or service arrangement handles timing differently.
- All-call forwarding sends every call to the destination; your desk phone will not ring
- No-answer or busy forwarding (where supported) lets you answer first and forward only what you miss
- Manual forwarding means turning it on and off yourself; there is no automatic schedule in the star codes
- Tell your team the line is forwarded so they do not keep watching an idle phone

More questions, answered
Do the *72 and *73 codes work on every Comcast Business phone product?
No. Comcast documents *72 and *73 for its Managed Voice desk phones, along with *92/*93 for no-answer and *90/*91 for busy forwarding. Other Comcast products manage forwarding through My Account or the Comcast Business App instead. Identify your exact product before using any code.
Will callers still see my regular business number?
Yes. Call forwarding does not change your public number. Callers dial the same Comcast Business number they always have, and the call rings at the destination you set, such as an AllDayDesk receptionist line.
Can I forward only after-hours calls?
The star codes themselves are either on or off; they do not follow a clock. You can turn forwarding on and off manually, use conditional forwarding where your product supports it, or arrange coverage that fits your hours with your answering service.
Does forwarding work if my Comcast internet is down?
Comcast voice products run on your Comcast connection, so forwarding settings are applied by Comcast's network, but whether calls forward during an outage depends on your product and service terms. Ask Comcast Business support how your specific product behaves during a service interruption.
How do I confirm forwarding is active?
Follow the confirmation steps in the guide for your specific Comcast product, such as listening for the confirmation tone or dial tone pattern the documentation describes. If you do not get a confirmation, or you want to verify how calls are being routed, contact Comcast Business support for help checking your line.
